People
want to feel fulfilled in their work. We all want to be engaged,
enthused and highly effective - in our individual and unique way.
These
fundamental concepts apply across all organisations, sectors and
levels of authority and responsibility.
Most of us recognise this. We appreciate that engagement is necessary
if people are to be their very best. We understand that firms
with high levels of engagmeent are likely to be more productive
and profitable. However, many of us struggle to create and sustain
a suitable working environment and an appropriate culture.
We suggest that a key part of the problem is that people don't
really appreciate how to engage, communicate, relate and build
trust with other people. Because we are all different and difference
leads to difficulty - unless we know what to do about it.
