Agile Business Practice

Agile business practices allow you to respond more rapidly to change, to accelerate decision-making, and sustain industry leadership. So what is it that makes business practices agile?

We've identified the following core principles for agile businesses;

 

  • Continually focus on delivering business value. Satisfy your customer's highest priority demands first. It's Pareto's law in action
  • Welcome changing requirements to harness change for competitive advantage. Nothing stand still. the act of developing a solution changes the situation by increasing our understanding
  • Concentrate on the outcome - what works is the only useful measure of progress. Get something going and work to improve it, rather than waiting to create the 'perfect' solution.
  • Work with others -collaborate and communicate intensely. Especially with your customers. Get them involved and owning the problem and solution. Do it with them, not for them
  • Prototypes and working models are more important and useful than project plans. Let the project run the plan not the plan run the project

And together with our partners Kyak, we've developed a one day workshop for Business Professionals who wish to 'get into' Agile techniques at the business rather than technical level.

The workshop is itself agile, based on collaborative working on projects that you bring to the day. You'll end up with an agile action plan with two or three clear priorities. That when actioned will have the most immediate and valuable impact.
